And no, nothing else was in the box. Just this, cardboard and bubble wrap.
The main purpose of the box seems not to be to protect the contents but rather to repeatedly post random branding such as the logos for eSATA, SATA, SAS, PCI-X, PCI-Express, FireWire, etc even though they clearly have nothing to do with this product whatsoever.

Maybe that company uses that same box (shape/size)for all or alot of thier products, so they have massive bulk in it, that its actualy cheaper for them to just use that box, for all thier products rather then order smaller boxes

Kinda like chip packets here, they make the packaging way over sized just so they can advertise more things.
So you open a giant pack of chips only to find a handful in there xD
